Attempts at Updating User Profiles

There's not much of a reason for me to post anything, I guess just to remind myself that it's something I want to do... BUT, I tried to setup the user profiles so when you click on someone's name, it gives you a tab where you can look at all of the stuff that they've posted... I got it working, sortof, but not to a production state that I am happy with. I'll come back to it later when I have more time.

Much needed updates & a few Enhancements

I made some pretty major updates to the backend of the site today, mainly patching much of the system stuff that keeps things going. While most of the updates aren't really noticeable, there might be a few slight enhancements or changes. I also updated some things to the backend of the theme and I'm not sure if I got all the bugs worked out of it yet or not...

If you notice anything out of the ordinary or something isn't working right, please make sure to let me know so I can take a look into it further.

More Updates to the Backend

Well, I did a few updates to the backend of the site, mainly to the way the images are handled and the registration process. You shouldn't notice any differences, but if you are having any problems with either registering or uploading pictures, let me know so I can look into it further.

I also changed the post length from 45 days to 90 days about a week ago. If you have a post that is live, you can simply wait until it expires, then edit that post and re-publish it which will keep it live for an additional 90 days.

Laying Low and Watching Used Asphalt Equipment Sell

I haven't made any significant changes to the site over the last week or so, other than changing the menu title image and adding a used asphalt plant equipment category. I'm not too sure if there is a demand for asphalt plant equipment or not but time will tell. I am mainly just sitting back and watching the site to see how things are doing and what areas I might be able to improve on. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know.

The Beginnings of the FAQ Pages

I started creating a list of Frequently Asked Questions which can be located from the menu at the left by clicking on FAQ

The FAQ is a work in progress and I will update the list of questions & answers as they come in.

Search Feature

I added a "Search" option for the site. We are starting to get enough posts that it can be a bit confusing trying to find anything...

I've thought about adding some additional categories for defining the equipment and helping folks dig down to what they are looking for such as: Asphalt Rollers, Sealcoat Machines, Asphalt Trailers, etc. If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know.

Picture Problem Fixed

I had a bit of a problem with being able to upload pictures through Internet Explorer but this is now fixed. If you posted an ad but didn't have an option to upload a picture, try editing the ad again and you should see where to upload pictures toward the bottom of the page.

New Category: Used Asphalt Plant Equipment

After doing some research online, it appears that used asphalt plant equipment is pretty common among the used asphalt equipment being sold. There are a few sites out there that offer folks to sell their used asphalt plant equipment and I am by no means trying to capture the majority of that market. At least now there is an option in-case someone has used plant equipment they are trying to sell off.

Post Expiration setup & A Few Other Tweaks

Well, I "think" I finally have the posts so they will expire on a timely manner. I will just have to wait and see at this point if it works right, but the posts should start expiring on their own after 45 days. This way, if you sell the equipment and forget to remove the post, it will go away on it's own. You can always re-publish the post by going to the posts "edit" link from your "My Account" -> "My Posts" tab. Just scroll to the bottom of the page and there should be a "Publish" check-box that is unchecked. Check it, save the post and it will be live again for another 45 days.

Well, I finally got the Captcha module working on the "E-mail Seller" and "registration forms". I tested this on the E-mail Seller form but not the registration. If it still isn't working on the registration form, let me know.
